Framatome and the French Embassy in Slovakia are launching the first “CO2-free” prize to support Slovak scientific research in areas that contribute to the protection of the environment.

One prize will be awarded in each of the following two categories:

  1. applications to nuclear energy technologies
  2. scientific contributions to environmental protection.

The winners will each receive €2000 from Framatome and a one-month research stay at the French institution of their choice in 2025, funded by the French Embassy in Slovakia.

The competition is open to all PhD graduates who are carrying out their research in a Slovak public institution. Applications should be submitted in English by email to martina.saganova@insitutfrancais.sk or to martina.saganova@diplomatie.gouv.fr by September 15 2024 and include:

  • an academic curriculum vitae, including a list of publications ;
  • a presentation of the applicant’s research activities, including their applications or potential applications, in a maximum of five pages;
  • a summary of this presentation of research activities of no more than half a page;
  • a letter from the director of the home institution confirming the applicant’s affiliation.
